Testimony of Ram S. Nepal
As a born and raised Hindu, Ram S. Nepal heard the
Gospel at the age of fourteen when he was attending high school
in 1975. Through an underground evangelist who gave him a Gospel
of John and explained it to him, he accepted Jesus Christ as his
personal Lord and Savior.
He committed his life unreservedly to Jesus knowing
the persecution ahead of him. His family disowned him and his brother
wanted to kill him because Ram was breaking the strong family Hindu
tradition. He had to flee from his village and live by taking laboring
jobs. In 1978 God called him into full time ministry while reading
Jeremiah 1:4-5: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” He began to experience
the presence of the Holy Spirit and God’s passion for the
lost people of Nepal. He went to a Bible College in India for four
years and in May of 1983 he came back to Nepal to start his ministry.
He was imprisoned and beaten several times for becoming a Christian
and preaching the Gospel in Nepal. God used him in prison, like
Joseph, to minister and ease the suffering of others by sharing
the Good News of Jesus Christ. He has led many people to the Lord,
planted more than three hundred churches and trained leaders who
are now the pastors. He is the President to the Evangelical Christian
Alliance of Nepal. |
